Aluminium Windows
Somerset double glazing windows specialist, DGA Frames are based in Weston Super Mare and supply and fit quality windows throughout the Somerset area.
We understand that our customers have concerns regarding the impact that their home has on the environment. Although the excellent quality of our windows, doors and conservatories mean that your home is better insulated, which therefore reduces the fuel (and cost) needed to heat it, many people worry about the environmental cost of the materials used in construction.
The 1998 Kyoto Agreement directly addressed the construction industries, demanding that buildings become more thermally efficient and more sustainable methods of sourcing materials were used. With this in mind, demands on increased longevity, thermal efficiency, sustainability and ease of recycling are now all critical factors in construction. |

The late nineteenth century, over seven hundred million tonnes (metric) of aluminium have been refined from natural sources across the world.
- Over three quarters of this aluminium is still in use.
- Over ninety per cent of the aluminium used in the UK construction industry is recycled.
- Recycling aluminium requires 95% less energy than refining new aluminium, a time consuming and costly process despite the abundance of aluminium in the Earths crust.
- Recycling aluminium from end-of-life products saves close to 80 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year.
- Since the inception of aluminium recycling, we have reduced CO2 by one billion tonnes.
Unlike some alternative building materials, aluminium offers an almost unlimited life span.
Unlike wood does not age and does not need protection from the weather (such as paint or wood-stain).
