Self Build Conservatory Project in Azores

"Moving from the UK to the Azores as part of our retirement plans meant lots of forward planning for how we wanted our barn conversion to look when finished. Having researched a range of self build conservatories I decided to go for one manufactured by Synseal. I discussed my design and specification with Dave at DGA Frames and within two days received a set of drawings and dimensions. Further discussion resulted in a couple of minor tweaks to the original design - we needed a cat flap so inserted two solid panels under top opening windows to incorporate one.

The frames and glass were delivered on the date agreed ready to load into our first shipping container and six weeks later I was building the conservatory on the sunny island of Faial, Azores. With the help of three trusty quick clamps I had the frame assembled in two days and the windows and roof in place by day four. Not bad for an amateur! I was extremely impressed with the quality of the frame and roof materials and the ease of construction.

The conservatory has been in place for almost two years now and has been exposed to some extremely strong winds, heavy rain and lots of sun during that time. It's been sturdy , has had no leaks and maintains its original colour.

All in all my wife and I are extremely pleased with our conservatory and we were very impressed with the professionalism of DGA Frames and in particular the friendly and efficient service provided by Dave Goodwin, who kept us fully informed throughout the whole design, purchase and delivery process. In fact I'm going back to the UK in May to build another Synseal conservatory supplied by DGA Frames for my sister!"
